Principal Elementary

A Message From Schell’s Principal, Mrs. Glasscock:

Thank you for visiting the Schell Elementary Website! I am thrilled to be serving as Principal of Schell Elementary! My hopes for each school year are that we join together as a community to help all students grow their potential as learners, excel in their social development, develop a healthy self-concept, and foster a love for lifelong learning. Lifelong learning is a priority for me. I sincerely appreciate your interest in our campus and hope that you will find what you need on the pages with our website.  I also invite you to view our Schell Facebook page to see our Coyotes in action and review our day-to-day posts.

Prior to this year, I was the assistant principal at Schell, so it was nice to have that experience before being named Principal.  I have 25+ years of experience in education, all within Plano ISD.  I have served as an assistant principal at Mitchell Elementary, a PACE teacher at Mathews Elementary and Hightower, and I was in the classroom as a team leader, as well as a teacher, in 3rd and 5th grades.  I am honored to be serving the Schell community.  I take a child-centered and collaborative approach to leadership.  At the center of every decision I consider your children and doing what is best for them.  My own children are both former graduates of Plano Senior High School, my alma mater – GO Wildcats! My husband, Chris, and I are deeply rooted in Plano ISD, and I am glad to be partnering with you this year.

Master of Science

Hello, Coyotes!

My name is Rachel Ashby, and I am so excited to be joining Schell as the assistant principal this school year! I have heard nothing but wonderful things about Schell, and I am thrilled to be a part of the community.

This will be my 14th year in education, most of which has been in Plano ISD. I previously served as a third-grade teacher at Huffman and Haun Elementary before moving to Weatherford Elementary, where I worked as a student support liaison and Title I literacy coach. I earned my undergraduate degree from Stephen F. Austin State University (Axe ’Em!) and a master’s degree in reading from Texas A&M University–Commerce.

When I’m not at school, I enjoy reading, exploring new coffee shops, and traveling. So far, I have visited three states and 15 countries. I currently live in the Craig Ranch area and love discovering new places in the community.

I look forward to a wonderful year of learning alongside you and your students!

Sincerely,
Rachel Ashby
